Lawmaker offers scholarships to 145 varsity students

The Chairman, Senate Committee on Special Duties, Senator Clever Ikisipo, on Saturday, gave scholarships to no fewer than 145 students in various institutions of higher learning. The beneficiaries, drawn from his senatorial districts of Ogbia, Brass and Nembe areas of Bayelsa State, comprised 135 undergraduates and 10 postgraduate students. Each undergraduate student received N50,000 each, while the postgraduate students were given N100, 000 each, summing up the scholarship funds to N7.75m. Distributing recipients for the scheme under the auspices of his foundation, Senator Clever Marcus Ikisipo Education Foundation, the Senator said the programme would be a continuous one.
