The Adamawa State House of Assembly has reportedly started the impeachment procedure against governor Murtala Nyako and his deputy Bala Ngilari.

According to Premium Times, the impeachment notice was directed to the two officials on Wednesday, June 18.
At the same time, 19 out of 25 Adamawa House of Assembly Members signed Nyako's impeachment notice, containing the allegations of gross misconduct against the governor and his deputy.
In a parallel development, the federal aviation authorities prevented the takeoff of Governor Nyako's chartered jet from at the Yola International Airport. The embattled governor inteded to depart for Abuja to witness the inauguration of the newly-elected leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
