Brazil Fire Scolari Over Poor World Cup Performance

Less than 12 hours after the 2014 FIFA World Cup come to an end, latest reports indicate that Brazil’s coach, Luiz Felipe Scolari, has lost his job. According to local reports in South America, the former Portugal manager was sacked after the hosts ended their World Cup campaign with two embarrassing defeats against Germany and Holland. Scolari had said he would let the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) decide his fate after the host were beaten 7-1 by eventual tournament winners Germany in the semi-finaland 3-0 by Holland in the third-place playoff. But, just hours after the Maracana played host to Germany’s win over Argentina in the final, the CBF have reportedly brought an end to Scolari’s time in charge of the national side.
